How can I sign up for group classes?

If you have not taken classes with us before, welcome!

We're looking forward to dancing with you.

Signing up for group classes is as easy as clicking on the class you want to attend, filling out the registration information and processing payment.

Once signed up, you’ll receive an automated email detailing what class(es) you have signed up for and the date(s) and time(s).

What if I have zero dance experience?

Welcome! Dance was new for all of us at one point. Accelerated Intros are perfect for you. We start at the beginning a pre-set group of steps where all beginner students start.

If you already have a bit of experience, that’s ok too! You’ll start with the entire class, but you will receive more nuanced instruction on how to improve your musicality and technique to look even better than when you walked in the door!

Will I have to rotate partners?

In short, yes! You will stay with your partner for a lot of the class, but when we reach social, “try-it-out” parts of class, rotating partners is beneficial for everyone! We know what you're thinking: you planned to enjoy a nice day out with your significant other learning to dance in each other’s arms, then the instructor rips you away from one another to dance with a stranger! DUN DUN DUUUUN!

Have no fear; you'll thank us later. Here are some ways it can benefit you:

  • You'll learn faster! That's right! Dancing with a variety of dance partners helps you better understand the nuances of leading and following. By rotating partners you are forced to problem solve with new people, and new difficulties that you wouldn't have otherwise come across, and makes you that much better when you do come back to your original partner!

  • Maybe you've been struggling through a certain pattern with your partner. You're likely to find another dancer in the group that understands the pattern and is able to give you more insight so you can better execute the movement with your original partner

  • You'll meet new people! You are in a class full of people that have something very important in common: YOU ALL LOVE DANCING! You may find you'll meet a new friend while rotating, and dancing with others in the class.

  • You'll gain more confidence! Maybe you aren't typically comfortable going out there and introducing yourself to new people. You can practice your social skills in a safe environment, and gain self confidence for other social situations.

  • You'll be better prepared to enjoy yourself social dancing!

Who teaches Accelerated Intro’s?

Group classes are taught by Lead Teacher, David Saucedo and assisted by Assistant Teachers from Ballroom College.

We encourage a generous mutual learning experience between you and your Assistant Teachers. You will learn new partner dance skills and your teacher will be learning how to communicate and showcase dance concepts. Just as you may stumble a bit with this new skill, you should expect that they might as well. We always have lead teachers available to help out if your instructor feels stuck.

What if I miss a lesson? What is your make-up policy?

Group class cancellation follows our 24 hour cancellation policy. We don’t provide refunds or credits for missed classes. There are no exceptions to this policy.

What if I Don’t Have a Partner?

No problem! When you sign up, we will ask you whether you prefer to learn the leader or the follower part. We’ll do our best to accommodate your preference with other solo dancers in attendance, but we can’t make promises. If learning the leader or follower part is vitally important for you, we recommend you find a friend to bring along!
